SALARY: Excellent gross market rate salary depending on your experience and if live in or live out

 

DAYS: Monday to Friday

 

HOURS: 50 per week, 8/9am to 6pm

 

CHILDREN: 7 month-old baby girl

                      

DESCRIPTION:

This wonderful family is looking for an experienced native English or fluent English-speaking nanny to provide exceptional sole charge care for a beautiful 7-month-old baby girl. The family lives in Amsterdam in the Netherlands but may relocate later his year to a location within a 1-hour travel radius from Amsterdam. They would love to find a warm, caring, positive and upbeat nanny who genuinely loves her job and to be part of their family.

They are open to a live in or live out arrangement. If live in, they will provide a lovely room with En-suite and your own entrance to their apartment. Both parents are professionals and work full time.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience caring for infants, be reliable, trustworthy, have excellent communication skills and a warm, caring personality. The nanny will be responsible for ensuring the baby's safety, health, and well-being, as well as creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. They would like the nanny to have excellent knowledge of infant care, including feeding, sleep, and development. If you have Montessori training this is a plus.

The parents value someone with strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with parents and other caregivers. They want an organised nanny who can take initiative and support them with all aspects related to the baby. You should have at least 6 years of experience as a nanny, with a proven track record of caring for infants on long-term assignments (ideally 2+ years with a family). You will also need to adapt to changes in the family’s and baby's routine and needs and must be flexible and willing to travel occasionally with the family.

It is essential you have an EU passport or work permit / can work in The Netherlands. The family would also like the nanny to be comfortable swimming and it would be a bonus if you can drive but not a requirement.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • All nursery duties

  • Minimum 6 years nannying experience with infants as a nanny

  • Must have an EU passport or work permit / can work in The Netherlands.

  • Sterilize baby items (e.g., bottles, nipples) on a regular basis

  • Follow parental nutritional preferences/food guidelines for children (organic, vegetarian)

  • Take her to parks and local activities and stimulate her social development through conversation and play

  • Focus on supporting her development and stimulate through play, music, books, art

  • Always ensure a tidy and calm home environment (they have a cleaner that comes to do deep cleaning)

  • Communicate effectively with parents about the baby's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.

  • Research and recommend professionals (e.g., doctors, therapists), education offerings (e.g., preschools, tutors), other activities (e.g., summer camps, sport teams in the future)

  • Taking care of pets (currently none, but the family may adopt a puppy or kitten in the future)

  • Run errands as required and additional duties, such as admitting professionals (e.g., cleaners, repairmen) to the house and occasional shopping for children (e.g., clothes, gifts) on request

  • Travel occasionally with the family

  • Be comfortable swimming

  • If you can drive it is a bonus, but this is not a requirement.
