SALARY: Market rate salary depending on your experience

 

 DAYS:  Monday to Thursday/Friday

plus some extra hours on a Saturday or Sunday

 

HOURS: 8am to 2.30/3pm Monday to Thursday or Friday

plus Saturdays or Sundays for 5-7 hours ideally.

Total of 35-40 hours per week.

DESCRIPTION: 

This wonderful family is are looking for a responsible, patient, and caring nanny to look after a gorgeous easy going and chatty 3-year-old little girl starting in July or August. She loves reading books, arts and crafts and is very curious about things so they would love a nanny who can support her development, have fun with her and stimulate her through play.

The role will require the nanny to work 35-40 hours per week and this would also include 5-7 hours on a Saturday or Sunday. They are flexible about working around the nanny’s availability and not necessarily working every weekend.

The role will involve some training initially from the mum or their live-in nanny as she has a medical sugar condition, and you will need to be trained to support her medical needs around checking her blood sugar levels. During term-time she attends morning nursery each day so you will be required to come to their home and give her breakfast, take her to nursery and stay with her so you can monitor her sugar levels while she is there. You will then bring her home, give her lunch and play with her until her live-in nanny will take over around 2.30/3pm. In school holidays, you will be able to plan some activities and take her to the park, but you will always be responsible for ensuring her blood levels are being monitored. You do not need any previous medical experience and their current nanny who has cared for her since she was a baby, was trained by her parents and Great Ormond Street staff.

The family are looking for a calm, mature and kind nanny who loves being active and who genuinely loves their job and spending time with children. They would love their nanny to offer advice and support and follow their relaxed gentle parenting style.

It is important you have a fluent level of English-and are a very good communicator. They would love the new nanny to become part of their family and work in a team with their live-in nanny who will do the afternoon/evening shift. They would like someone who is happy to cook healthy meals for their child and a driver is ideal so you can drive her to and from nursery which is close by.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 6 years nannying experience with children from 3 years as well as being able to support with developmental milestones.

• It is essential you are a native English speaker or have fluent written and spoken English

• Preparing and cooking the child’s meals following guidance from parents around her medical condition

• Willing to be trained by Great Ormond Street to support child’s medical condition
• All usual nursery duties when there is time
• Follow and continue all routines
• Take her to and from nursery each day
• Stimulate the child’s social development through conversation and play
• Take outdoors to parks and for walks
• Support with reaching her milestones and attend nursery each day

• A confident driver is their preference
